Everyone is welcome here.

Our labor is not a favor. AND, money should not be a barrier to access. If FLOWLab is the right one for you, we want you here! Request a comp or change an existing membership via the form below.

Potential members: We’re here for everyone, especially to support neurodivergent creators, independent researchers, and mission-driven consultants.

We comp a number of new memberships each year. Previous Office Hour guests and creators vetted by Glow Members and Community Managers get first priority.

We know, even $5/month can be a challenge for independent contractors, consultants, writers, researchers, academics, and freelancers.

We know how quickly things can change—for worse, and for better! Monthly dues should not add undue stress. Plus, we don’t want to take from your bank account or your bandwidth if you’re not getting benefits.

Access is a human right.

To APPLY, fill out our Membership Application form.
To CHANGE or Comp, fill out our Membership Change form.

Current Members: Request comps, make changes to your tier, or cancel anytime.

Meant to downgrade, but didn’t get around to it? No problem! We can run a credit for recent charges, up to 2x a year, if the next month has not yet processed.

Whatever the reason, if you need to downgrade your membership, refund a month, comp, or need help, fill out the quick and confidential form below.

Only YOU can make changes to recurring donations on Open Collective. Go here. Unfortunately, we cannot do it for you.

FL5 members have a lot of lovely things to say about our community…Maybe you’re next?

Free is also a cost.

The American Dream is not only out of reach for most millennials—it’s out of sight. Gen X are sandwiched, caring for Boomer parents and kids. Moms are spent physically, financially, and emotionally. Caregivers of those with disabilities are burned out from the pandemic.

Thanks to American capitalism and democracy, client invoices are overdue; medical bills keep piling up, too. Entrepreneurs and creators have mortgages. groceries, subcontractors, college, pets, and all the same costs you do, but without a steady salary or health insurance.

The answer from conservatives and big bank owners is always the same: Cut back on Starbucks. Stop eating avocado toast and be responsible with your money. ICYMI, “It’s not the avo toast.”

35% of American families who work 40 hours a week year-round full-time do not have enough to meet the basic needs of food housing and childcare etc. (2022 study from Russell Sage. Learn more here: Economic Update with Richard D. Wolff on the Podcast “Democracy at Work”).

NOT shockingly the 35% number is misleading. When the data is disaggregated by race, white and Asian families are at 23% and 25% respectively. For other families it is much worse: over half can’t cover the basics.

Black families, 49%, and Hispanic families, 59% don’t earn enough to cover rent, food, and childcare. This is with 2 people per household in full-time employment, working 40+ hours a week, year round!

If you’re one of many U.S. households* struggling to cover rent, food, and childcare each month, we see you and we got you.

We can’t solve for everything, but we’re happy to cover your membership. Unfortunately we cannot fix the digital divide and know internet access adds another layer to access. If you’re able to get there, try your local library for wifi. Plus, it’s a library so win-win!

For many communities, fees are a non-starter; no money, no membership. We get it. Labor is not a favor. But, that doesn’t work for everyone, and access should not require more than you can give.

We’re glad you found your way here. ANYONE who needs our support is more than welcome.
