Since the 1970s, large organizations began to shrink their full time staff. Advice fro, global Management Consulting firms like McKinsey changed the face of work forever. Even our federal, state, and local government began moving away from W-2 employees in favor of outsourcing labor. 4 decades later, we’ve seen the rise of the gig economy, sharing economy, coworking spaces, remote work, and ever-growing solopreneurship. The large institutions continue to hire big consultancies to audit these problems, keeping wealth with the 1% and making zero moves towards the changes in their DEI statements and social posts. If we are supposed to center those impacted in the problem, why do they keep outsourcing to consultants who charge $1500-2000/hour to “look into it.”

These consultancies are responsible for some of the biggest crisis we face in the current economy yet they are trusted to dictate the future?
